The IdeaPad 710s configuration we tested is equipped with an Intel Core i7-6560U processor. While the name «Core i7» already speaks of good performance, there is additional support for the Iris Graphics 540 integrated graphics chip.
It has significantly higher processing power than typical integrated graphics chips, so much so that it can even compete in power with entry-level discrete graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD. For example, at around 50 fps in 3DMark’s Cloud Gate benchmark, it outperforms the NVIDIA GeForce 940M, which typically only reaches around 40 fps.
Added to all this is a fairly roomy (with a capacity of 256 GB) and incredibly fast SSD drive. This configuration of the laptop in the PCMark 7 benchmark is gaining 5600 points.
The Full HD anti-glare panel is convincing in every way. It is very bright, high contrast, has stable viewing angles and offers rich colors. Away from an electrical outlet, the laptop can withstand 4.5 hours of continuous use under heavy load and more than 10 hours in extra power saving mode. These figures look very convincing, as well as a slight weight (1.09 kg), as well as modest dimensions.
Due to the insignificance of the dimensions of the case, the equipment almost inevitably suffers. In particular, HDMI is only available in micro-version, and only two USB 3.0 ports are provided for external devices. Small but future-proof and secure USB Type-C ports are not here at all.
While the case itself feels solid and we liked the keyboard, the touchpad is very sticky and the tactile feel of it during everyday use is sure to annoy most users.
The control of the operation of the cooling system fans is not very well organized here. They work too often, and even in the absence of load. Although they are not very loud, but when working in silence, the constantly changing speed, and with it the noise level, interfere and cause some anxiety.
If more ports and larger SSD storage are more important to you than graphics performance, then the Acer Aspire S13 S5-371-767P might be a great alternative.
This laptop is backed by an equally good display, comparable performance results, and slightly longer battery life. True, it weighs 200 grams more. But the touchpad is better, at least if you have clean fingers.

CONCLUSION
During testing, the Lenovo Ideapad 710S-13ISK proved to have many outstanding features. Particularly convincing we find the display of this device and its high working performance. While there is nothing to be ashamed of in terms of portability, in terms of equipment and ergonomics, the buyer will have to put up with small flaws.
