Conclusion

With a final score of 68 percentage points, the Notebook HP 250 G6 (2SX72EA) does not rank very high in our respective rankings, but within the walls of the test lab it managed to showcase its strengths in the individual scoring disciplines of Equipment and Performance. . We are forced to criticize the results in the Mobility test category based on the results of the test — here the laptop allows itself to cheat. Nevertheless, due to some stand-out features, the laptop deserves to be paid attention to.

Pros:
  • very fast SSD
  • high capacity SSD
  • good network interfaces and other connectors
  • high resolution display
  • good system performance
  • adequate cost (about 250$)

Previous bugs partially fixed

HP quite often in its recent past built slow network interfaces and the same USB ports into laptops. In the presented laptop, at least this drawback has been eliminated. A gigabit Ethernet port is designed for cable connection to the Internet, and the WLAN module now complies with the modern ac standard.

Review and testing of the laptop HP 250 G6 (2SX72EA): cheap and with SSDThe rest of the equipment is also at a good level: a fast 256 GB SSD is not at all something taken for granted in this price segment. In addition to HDMI, there is also a VGA output for connecting external monitors. In addition, among the USB ports there are those supporting not only 2.0, but also 3.0 standard.

Good performance, imperfect display

The performance of the integrated processor (Intel Pentium N4200) is enough for simple tasks for the most part, and thanks to the use of an SSD drive in the aggregate, the system seems to be quite fast.

Review and testing of the laptop HP 250 G6 (2SX72EA): cheap and with SSDThe display is convincing in two ways: the Full-HD resolution deserves praise in the same way as the matte surface of the screen — the glare here does not interfere very much. Unfortunately, the rest of the measurement results are at the level of cheap devices: the brightness is very low, and the stability of the viewing angles leaves much to be desired. In this case, even if the user sits exactly in the center of the display and the screen tilt is selected correctly, the picture still looks only half natural.

Alternative: Acer Aspire 3 A315-31

Review and testing of the laptop HP 250 G6 (2SX72EA): cheap and with SSDThanks to the larger battery, the Acer Aspire 3 A315-31-P72U can offer at least one hour more battery life. While system performance is similar, the SSD used here is slightly slower. It holds half as much information as its HP laptop counterpart, but it can rely on support for an additional classic 1000 GB hard drive. Thus, in general, there is more than enough disk space here. The touchpad surface is more comfortable here, and the tactile sensations from the keyboard are about the same level. The brighter display offers the same resolution and also boasts a matte finish.
