With the advent of 4K resolution, the desire to watch movies on large diagonals has only intensified. And everything would be fine, but the recent rise in the price of technology has raised the cost of models with screens larger than 55 inches to values that are inaccessible to many. It is not surprising that the demand for budget equipment has increased. For example, Harper 65U770TS with a diagonal of 65 inches costs about 500$. — can be said, inexpensive. How much different is this option from analogues of top brands?
In fact, the TV looks quite modern — we expected to see cheap plastic and thick screen frames, but the quality of the Harper 65U770TS materials does not cause much criticism, and the frames are almost invisible against the background of such a diagonal.
For installation on the surface, the original legs of a semicircular shape are used. They are made of plastic and have small rubber pads on the bottom to prevent slipping. If you mount the TV on the wall, you will need a VESA 200 x 200 compatible mount.
The remote control is made according to the classical scheme: there is a digital block (which will obviously please fans of on-air channels), a joystick, buttons for quick access to some services, a separate button for calling the voice assistant, traditional volume keys, and player control. In general, the remote control is quite convenient — except that the central button in the joystick is small in diameter and instead of pressing it, sometimes you get on the joystick arrows.
Buttons for calling quick services are very peculiar. For example, one of them leads to Google Play, although you don’t use it that often. Obviously, the remote has already been designed and simply adapted for this TV. Bluetooth is used to connect it to the TV, which is quite logical.
digital audio output
There are hardly any problems with connecting devices: there are connectors for almost all occasions. From classic «tulips» to modern HDMI (and one of them with ARC, that is, capable of transmitting sound to an external source).
The only subtle point is that some of these connectors (for example, antenna) are placed horizontally on the rear wall. If you hang the TV on the wall, you will need to provide space for the plugs.
The Internet can be connected both via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz band is supported) and cable. Bluetooth is useful not only for remote control, but also for working with headphones.

Image and sound quality
To keep the price tag low, the manufacturer abandoned the resource-intensive “improvers” and supplied the TV with only the most necessary. But he did not save on the matrix: here it is of very high quality, IPS, with good color reproduction and wide viewing angles. There is support for HDR10 and MEMC technology, which improves the clarity of contours in dynamic scenes. As for the brightness, the declared 330 nits is not enough except in direct sunlight. But when placing a 65-inch TV, the place is chosen thoroughly, and it is unlikely that anyone would think of putting it in front of a window.
Like many other modern TVs, the speakers of the Harper 65U770TS are at the bottom and point downwards. There is no support for surround sound here — the usual pair of 10-watt emitters.

Smart TV system
Processor: ARM Cortex A53, 4 cores
RAM: 2 GB
Permanent memory: 16 GB
OS: Android 9.0
«Smart» functions are formally present in many budget models. The only question is how convenient they are to use. Old processors and severely limited RAM sometimes make using Smart TVs a challenge. The Harper 65U770TS has a 4-core ARM Cortex A53 and 2 GB of RAM — in our experience, this is just the minimum «gentleman’s set» for a modern smart TV. In fact, the interface works smoothly, some applications take longer to load than you expect, but still you can’t call the TV “brake”.
Internal memory is 16 GB, of which about 12 are available to the user. Again, the drive is not dimensionless, but even for those who use a large number of applications it will be enough.
As befits a budget TV, the Harper 65U770TS runs on bare Android 9.0. The absence of shells relieves the processor of unnecessary load, so moving through the menu, loading applications are performed quite quickly. To be able to install additional applications and use the voice assistant, you will need to log in with your Google account.
The list of pre-installed applications is rather modest, but this is more of a plus than a minus. At least there are not a bunch of online services, of which, as a rule, only one is used, or games that many do not even launch.

Total: our opinion about the Harper 65U770TS
It is quite difficult to create a TV that would be inexpensive, but at the same time would not cause negative picture quality or poor performance of Smart TV. The Harper 65U770TS is just the bare minimum that most smart TV users will be happy with. The design is at the level of more expensive models, a good IPS-matrix, an extensive selection of interfaces, a simple and convenient Smart TV system on Android that can be customized indefinitely — these are the main advantages of this TV.
There are also a few shortcomings: the placement of the connectors in the back direction, the imperfect joystick on the remote control … But against the general background, these are trifles.
By the way, we have selections of the best TV models for the living room and other rooms. For example, inexpensive models with 4K resolution. And if you need something simpler, Full HD TVs with Smart TVs are also suitable.
